Self portrait

My self portrait is a short piece of writing looking at my views on my own writing, looking at what I wish to do with the worlds I have made. The text is underneath this, with a video version used as a test embed (It was a failed attempt and I ended up giving up on the idea.)

"Recently, I’ve been looking back at my past. Revisiting childhood world’s in a new lens. It’s something I’ve been doing for years, each important stage of my life. I'll revisit these places in my head and begin new adventures. Have old characters revisit their homelands, have them grow older and older. I still haven’t forgotten my childhood worlds though.

Lands with green rolling hills, lush forests, great cities that were so technologically advanced they worked with nature. A land of elves, human knights, fairies and (of course) dragons. But as I grew older, I learnt that this world would be impossible... I changed things. Dragons were no longer the worlds biggest threat, but rather, the rulers of this land became the true enemy.

The brave adventurers I created grew older. The noble knight growing wiser, The elven prince learning to open up to his friends, The princess, who learned to fight back, to rule with dignity and honor. And the pirate queen who learned to live a life without fear of betrayal.

As they grew older, people around them began to die. And then I abandoned this world... But now? I wish to share this world, the tales of these adventurers... With other people. Letting them experience every twist and turn. This is my dream. "

In a rush here, the psycho holding me in this damned basement is on his way, I have about 2 minutes to tell our story. We were lured here with promises of a fantasy land. He said he could show us his plans for the future, a land without pain, a land so advanced that technology works with nature. When we accepted his proposal for a meeting, he gassed us. Threw us in this cellar in the middle of god knows where. There seems to be some kind of... Stone altar?? It started off just blank. but after what I assume was our first night. We woke up and suddenly the stones had gone. Each of us began getting taken upstairs, one by one. never coming back. I am the last left and now the Jutting stones of this altar lean against one another, forming a crude doorway. A light emanating from this swirling portal—the deep purple of a bruise—beckoning me forward despite its sinister aura. I can smell cinammon... It's oddly pleasing. I want to step through- DCODE- caesar shift- 15 backwards

work experience search

 work experience:

There's not much to say here, I'm finding it very difficult to find writing related work experience places, the same as acting. I have sent email to st george's theatre and will have booked an appointment with the future's team soon. I shall update this entry soon.

Progression

I feel like i'm going to go to uni, or at the very least try.

We've all been using Unifrog lately, a very helpful tool that has helped me by choosing a range of jobs I may be interested in based off of a few quizzes (including a personality test) The main ones that caught my eye include 'Art director (tv and film) which is a person that helps the production team and directors in bringing their creative visions to life. There is also the job of 'Author' a career that I was already interested in pursuing anyway. There was also roles such as actor, director and producer. All things that I am interested in.

To start off with, I decided to look at the cv of an actor, since that is the main role I have taken in the making of our short film, this CV appears to be full of pictures, and some fairly basic descriptions of the different roles landed (in film, tv, and theatre) It has a very nice layout and is pleasing to look at.
the second creative CV that I managed to find was that of a creative writer, this is a lot less colourful and full of pictures than the last, and is very neatly laid out, with sections for skills, the actual experience, education and an overall summary of the person. Personally, I think it is a very bland looking document.

After this, I decided to create my own creative cv. First I found a website called livecareer that helped me create my cv.

Professional headshots

 Professional headshots:

Another fairly important part of a creative's journey is getting a headshot taken, this will always get put on a portfolio and be used wherever else it may need to be used.

It would appear as though headshots often have a few main things in common, the first is that the subject's head is in clear view of the cameraa, and the most prominent part of the shot. The second is that it would appear as though many people choose a basic backdrop and make sure they stand up as straight as possible, often times smiling into the camera (sometimes not)

a few examples include:

This first image is of a gentleman smartly dressed with his body facing to the side, head looking at the camera and features a black background. The black background is a very heavy background, and gives a sort of "in charge" feeling.

the second image is of another gentleman with a basic shirt on leaning on some sort of table. Another black background.

For my headshot I wanted something that screamed me while also being fairly professional, so we shot a couple of photos outside, I ended up choosing a photo of me standing with my arms crossed with a slight smile, I then cropped it so that it was just my face. This is the end result:
